Omer - Version 1.11
Works on all Palm devices; Centros, Treos, Tungstens, Zires, and Sony Clies.

The Omer application makes it convenient to count the Omer on your Palm organizer, by displaying the complete text of the Omer, and automatically showing the correct information for each day of the Omer based on the current date of your Palm organizer.

You can set an alarm to remind you to count the Omer. An Omer counting history chart can be displayed that tracks the days you counted the Omer.

Best of all, Omer is FREE !!!

Omer: Features

If the current date on your Palm organizer is within the range of the "Counting of the Omer", the date that is shown on the Omer screen is the current date.

If the current time is after dusk as calculated based on your current city setting in Luach, then the After Dark checkbox will be set, and the Jewish Date and "Omer Day" will show the correct information for counting the Omer at night.

If the current time is before dusk, then the Jewish Date and "Omer Day" will show the correct information for counting the Omer after midnight, or during the day (in case you did not count the night before).

If you tap the After Dark selector, the screen will display the calculation of Dusk time for your current city setting in Luach. If you run Omer and the After Dark checkbox is not checked, you can tap the After Dark selector to see what time you can count the Omer.

If you are not on today's Omer counting, or the Omer has not started yet, you will get the message: The Dusk (Tzet) information can only be displayed for today's date.

The last screen contains information that changes based on the "Omer Day". On this screen, the correct "Sefira" is included in the appropriate place. The text for that day is shown in a bold font.

The Omer Setup screen allows you to modify several preferences:
Define which screen to start the Omer (Hineni or go directly to the Bracha screen).

Defines the method of counting history desired (Automatic, Query, or Manual). Tap on the History button to see the chart.

Schedule an alarm to remind you to count the Omer based on Every Night, Week Nights (excludes Friday nights and Chag), specify a one-time alarm or no alarm.
You have the flexibility to change the date and time to your liking.

Alarm settings allows you to select various settings for the Omer alarm reminder screen. Check out the alarm sounds called Omer Short and Omer Long!

When the Omer alarm is scheduled to ring, a reminder screen will automatically interrupt you and appear on the screen. If the Palm organizer is off, it will turn on automatically.

You can than count the Omer, or you have the capability to enter a snooze time. You also have the ability to change the setting for the next scheduled alarm date and time.

The Omer Counting History displays a chart for each of the 49 days in the Omer. Each square will either be:
blank - day in the future
X - did not get counted using the Omer program
Stalk of wheat (Omer) - counted using the program
Target - current day

Tap on any day, to toggle the status.

Known Limitations in Omer

It is not clear how Omer will interact with other applications that use alarms. Especially if Omer sets an alarm for the same time that another alarm is scheduled.

If Omer is running, and an alarm is triggered, there could be some unexpected side effects.
