When Yom Ha'Zikaron falls
out on Sunday, it is moved to Monday.
When Yom Ha'Atzmaut falls
out on Monday, it is moved to Tuesday.
Please note this occurs this
year - in April 2007. This update will
automatically fix the dates for these events if
you had previously
inserted them into your Calendar.
Supports the Luach Integration feature on
Palm OS 5 devices
This version is free for all
registered users of Luach version 1.5x.
Registered customers of Penticon of Luach versions prior to 1.50,
are eligible to buy a registration key for Luach Version 1.55 at
a discounted price. Please send us an email
with the following info so we can update our database: Full Name,
User Name, previous and new email address, as well as when (month
& year) and where you bought Hebrew or Luach. Once we get the email,
we will notify you how to order using the discount.
The following sequence must be followed in order to install Luach
on the Palm (Treo/ Tungsten/ Zire/ TX / Visor / Sony Clie) organizer:
1 Download Luach
Download the Luach version 1.55 zip file.
This file is named "luach155.zip".
2 Save the file to your hard drive
and remember the file name and location. If prompted to overwrite
files, say "Yes". A zip file is a compressed file which contains
several files within it.
3 You'll need WinZip
(or a similar program) to extract the files out of the "zip"
file. (If you are using a MacIntosh computer, use StuffIt).
If prompted to overwrite files, say Yes. Remember the location
of the extracted files.
4 If Luach is currently installed
on your organizer, do NOT delete Luach, just re-install over it.
Tap the Luach icon on your organizer
If you see the Luach Integration checkbox
make sure it is unchecked
Tap the Done button
5 Using the Palm Install Tool, install
the Luach.prc file to the Handheld section of the Palm Quick
Install window (do not install on the Expansion Card section).
You can optionally install the LuachS.prc and LuachJ.prc
files. These applications allow you to run Luach and go directly
into the Jewish Calendar Dialog (without seeing the main menu).

If you have a document reader (TealDoc), install the cities.prc
file. This file contains the longitude and latitude definitions
for over 200 cities throughout the world.
6 Perform a HotSync in order to transfer
the file(s) to your device.
7 On your Palm device, tap the Luach
icon
to run the application.
8 Jewish Holidays
Update
If you had a previous version of Luach on your Palm device, you
will see a display prompting you to update the Jewish Holidays that
already exist in your Calendar / Date Book (old and future entries).
It is suggested to tap the Yes and OK buttons.
NOTE: If you tap the No button, you will not be able to change
the Holidays automatically.
NOTE: In 2007, Yom Ha'Zikaron is celebrated on Monday April 23rd,
and Yom Ha'Atzmaut is celebrated on Tuesday April 24th. This update will automatically
fix the dates for these events in your Calendar.
9 Daylight Savings Time Update
If you had a previous version of Luach on your Palm device, you
will see a display prompting you to update the Daylight Savings
Time settings for each city in Luach. It is suggested to tap the
Yes and OK buttons.
If you choose not to update your Daylight Savings Time settings
at this time, you can always update the DST settings for a city
later on, by choosing Update DST Settings from the menu on
the main Luach screen.
10 City Definition - Daylight Savings Time Update
On the DST Setup screen, you will see a list of cities, and their current DST settings.
The DST settings will be either Other, On or Off.
Select each city that goes by USA, Israel, or Europe DST setting,
and change the setting for those cities to the appropriate settings.
All cities that don't follow any of those rules should not be changed.
To update a city that you want to change, tap the City in the list, or tap the
Modify Selected City button to open the highlighted city.
After modifying a city, tap the Save button, and the next city in the list
will automatically be highlighted. Once you've updated all of the cities that need updating,
you should not need to perform this procedure again.
11 Registration key
If you had a Luach key for version 1.5x then Luach will be automatically
registered.
If you had a different version of Luach, you will be able to use
Luach until March 28th, please send us an email
with the following info: Full Name, User Name, Palm model, previous
and new email address, so we can tell you how to order the new registration
key.
If you are a new Luach customer, you will be able to use Luach for 30 days.

12 If you want the Jewish Calendar
to be displayed whenever the Palm organizer shows the date selector:
Check the Luach Integration checkbox
on the main Luach screen.

13 Tap the Prefs button on the main Luach screen.
Set the User Interface Language:
If you have Hebrew installed and
enabled on your device, and want the display to be in Hebrew,
check English/Hebrew
If you want the display to be in English,
check English Only
Set the Holidays settings:
Check Diaspora for
Pesach & Sukkot for 8 days
Check Israel for Pesach & Sukkot for 7 days
Tap the OK button.
14 Tap the Cities button.
Select the desired city from the list.
Tap the Set City as Current City button.
If your city is not on the list, you will need to add the city.
