Hebrew Support+: How to Download

Hebrew Support+ includes the Luach application.

NOTE: If you have a Palm OS 5 device, you will not be able to use Hebrew Support+ on it. You can install Version 5.00L of Hebrew Lite.

Check which version of the Palm OS you have on your organizer before you install the Hebrew Support+.

The following sequence must be followed in order to install Hebrew Support+ on the Palm (Visor/ Sony CLIE) organizer:

1-A If you have a hi-resolution Sony CLIE device that has Palm OS 4.x or 3.x (not Palm OS 5):
Download the Hebrew Support+ Version 4.01S zip file. This file is named "heb401s.zip". Continue with Step 2.

1-B If you have a Tungsten W:
Download the Hebrew Support+ Version 4.10W zip file. This file is named "heb410w.zip". Continue with Step 2.

1-C If your organizer has Palm OS 3.5 through 4.1.2:
Download the Hebrew Support+ Version 4.10 zip file. This file is named "heb410.zip". Continue with Step 2.

1-D If your organizer has Palm OS 3.0 through 3.3:
Download the Hebrew Support+ Version 3.20 zip file. This file is named "heb320.zip". Continue with Step 2.

1-E If you have a hi-resolution Handera device:
Download the Hebrew Support+ Version 4.00H zip file. This file is named "heb400h.zip". Continue with Step 2.

2 Save the file to your hard drive and remember the file name and location. If prompted to overwrite files, say Yes. A zip file is a compressed file which contains several files within it.

3 You'll need WinZip (or a similar program) to extract the files out of the "zip" file. (If you are using a MacIntosh computer, use StuffIt). If prompted to overwrite files, say Yes. Remember the location of the extracted files.

4 If you have a previous version of Hebrew Support+ (or Hebrew Lite) on your organizer, make sure to disable it.

To disable "Hebrew", run the Hebrew application on your organizer, and tap the Disable button. Now tap the Done button.

NOTE: If you see the message "Unsupported OS Version", then you do not need to disable Hebrew, just continue on.

5 Using the Palm Install Tool (that is provided as part of the Palm desktop software), install the "hebrew.prc" file on your computer.

6 Perform a HotSync in order to transfer the file to your organizer.

7 On your organizer, tap the Hebrew+ icon to run the application. Tap the Enable button. Hebrew Support+ is now enabled on your organizer.

8 After Hebrew Support+ has been installed and enabled, the entries in the Address Book may not be sorted correctly. This can be corrected by performing an additional HotSync after Hebrew Support+ has been enabled.

9 Before you begin to use Hebrew Graffiti, it is recommended that you calibrate the digitizer on your organizer.
Tap the "Welcome" application, and follow the instructions.
Try to be precise in tapping on the X (targets).
