Q: How do I lookup a Hebrew name in the Address Book?
|
A: When the cursor is flashing in the "Look Up" field,
you have two ways to enter a Hebrew name. Either use Hebrew Graffiti make sure you are in Hebrew
mode) or activate the popup Hebrew keyboard (tap on the lower left corner of the Graffiti area -
where "abc" is printed).
If you use the popup Hebrew keyboard, enter the first few letters of the last name, and tap the
"Done" button in the Hebrew Keyboard dialog. After returning to the "Lookup"
field, the cursor will try to find a match.
If there is a match with all the letters that have been entered, then that name will be highlighted.
If there is no entry that matches all of the letters, the closest match will be found, and the letters
that do not match will be erased. If no match is found, the Palm will beep and the letters will be
erased.

Q: How do I set an Untimed Event in Hebrew in the Date Book?
|
A: The easiest way for setting Untimed Events is to begin writing
Hebrew Graffiti in the Date Book when no time is selected. Doing this will automatically open
an Untimed Event (a diamond appears in the time list).
Unfortunately, when no time is selected, there is no way to activate the popup Hebrew Keyboard.
There are two ways this can be accomplished. You can write the first character in English, and
then popup the Hebrew Keyboard. The English character can then be erased, and you can continue
entering data. Or you can select a time, and activate the Hebrew Keyboard. After entering the
Hebrew text, tap on the Details button, tap on the time and tap the"No Time" button,
then tap "OK" twice.
NOTE: The untimed event will appear at the top of the Date Book screen. You can have more than
one untimed event on particular day.
NOTE: To de-select a time, tap the empty area to the right of the "Go to" button.

Q: Why can't I use the International (Int'l) keyboard with Hebrew?
|
A: The International keyboard is designed for entering accented
vowel characters which are used in European characters. Since
the Hebrew characters replace the accented vowel characters,
Hebrew characters are displayed when the International keyboard
is activated. This keyboard should not be used for entering
Hebrew characters since they will not be displayed properly
when they are entered. In addition, they letters are not placed
in their correct positions on this keyboard.

Q: How do I activate the standard organizer keyboard when Hebrew
Support+ is enabled?
|
A: The numeric keyboard can be activated in the normal way by tapping
on the lower right corner of the Graffiti area. Once the numeric
keyboard is activated, you can switch to the Alpha keyboard
by tapping the "abc" button. Both the Alpha and Numeric
keyboards can be activated from within the Hebrew Keyboard dialog,
however, when this is done, you will be returned to the Hebrew
Keyboard after tapping the "Done" button in the Alpha
or Numeric keyboard. If you don't want to enter any Hebrew characters,
it's best to activate the Numeric keyboard directly.

Q: Why can't I enter more than 8 characters in the text field of
the Hebrew Keyboard dialog?
|
A: You probably activated the Hebrew Keyboard from the "Lookup"
field of the Address Book. This field accepts a maximum of eight characters, and this limit is enforced
by the Hebrew Keyboard dialog. You may have activated the Hebrew Keyboard from another field, which also
has a limit on the number of characters that can be entered.

Q: How do I see Tefillot displayed on my Palm organizer?
|
A: In order to see Tefillot displayed
on your Palm organizer, you will need a document (doc) reader.
This is an application that allows you to read documents that
are formatted specially for the Palm organizer. There are
different document readers for the Palm organizers. These
are all 3rd party applications (they don't come with the Palm
device initially).
We recommended that you use TealDoc from a company called
TealPoint. Download a demo version of TealDoc.
Scroll down and click on the DOWNLOAD button (with the USA
flag version). You will need to fill out a form, but this
gives you the demo version for free.
If you scroll down to the "Documents in TealDoc Format" section,
you will see "Penticon" listed in the Partners". They even
have a link for the TealDoc manual.
Then you need to download the individual documents that you
want. These documents can be in English or Hebrew. See our
Moadon Clubhouse) web page. These
documents can be downloaded for free.
After you have downloaded and installed the documents, do
a Hotsync.
Tap on the "TealDoc" icon from the Application Launcher.
Now you will see the list of documents on your organizer.
Tap the document you want to open. If you have not registered
TealDoc, you will get a "nag screen" to register TealDoc,
from TealPoint, or you can tap the screen and use it with
the nag screen. On the bottom of the Palm organizer are four
buttons with the scroll button in the middle. Use the scroll
button to scroll down (and up) the document.
