Check which version of the
Palm OS
you have on your organizer before you install Hebrew Lite.
The following sequence must be followed in order to install Hebrew
Lite on your Palm (Visor / Sony CLIE) organizer:
1-A If you have an
organizer that has
Palm OS 5:
Download the Hebrew Lite Version
5.00L zip file. This file is named "heb500L.zip".
Continue with Step 2.
1-B If you have a
hi-resolution Sony CLIE device that has Palm OS 4.x or 3.x (not Palm OS 5):
Download the Hebrew Lite Version
4.01SL zip file. This file is named "heb401SL.zip".
Continue with Step 2.
1-C
If you have a Tungsten W:
Download the Hebrew Lite Version
4.11WL zip file. This file is named "heb411WL.zip".
Continue with Step 2.
1-D
If your organizer has Palm OS 3.5 through 4.1:
Download the Hebrew Lite Version
4.01L zip file. This file is named "heb401L.zip".
Continue with Step 2.

If your organizer has Palm OS 3.0 through 3.3:
Download the Hebrew Lite Version
3.00L zip file. This file is named "heb300L.zip".
Continue with Step 2.
2 Save the file to your hard drive
and remember the file name and location. If prompted to overwrite
files, say Yes. A zip file is a compressed file which contains
several files within it.
3 You'll need WinZip
(or a similar program) to extract the files out of the "zip"
file. (If you are using a MacIntosh computer, use StuffIt).
If prompted to overwrite files, say Yes. Remember the location
of the extracted files.
4 If you have a previous version of
Hebrew Lite (or Hebrew Support+) on your organizer, make sure to
disable it. This new version will overwrite the old version.
Tap the HebLite icon (or the Hebrew+ icon) on your
organizer. You will see one of the following screen displays:
A screen stating the Beta
Version has expired, tap the OK button.
You see the message "Unsupported
OS Version", tap the Done button.
You see a message "Ivrit Mutkenet Enabled",
tap the Disable button, then tap the Done button.
If you are using Hebrew
from a different company other than Penticon, make sure to disable
the Hebrew application. Note: this is read-only Hebrew
and does not support Hebrew text entry. Install at your own risk.
5 If your organizer has Palm OS 3.5
through 5:
Install
the Hebrew.prc file using the the Palm Quick Install on your computer.
Make sure to the install it to the Handheld and not the Expansion Card.
Continue with step 7.
6 If your organizer has Palm OS 3.0
through 3.3:
Using the Palm Install Tool (that is provided as part of the Palm
desktop software), install on your computer the following 3
files:
Hebrew.prc

7 Perform a HotSync in order to transfer
the file to your organizer.
8 On your organizer, tap the HebLite
icon
to run the application.
If Hebrew is not enabled, tap the Enable button.
Hebrew Lite is now enabled on your device.
Tap the Done button.
