Hebrew Lite: Features

Ability to read Hebrew Docs

Hebrew Lite is intended for people who need "Read-Only" Hebrew. Specifically, for reading Hebrew Doc files, and for use with Luach and Omer, and other applications that display Hebrew, without requiring any Hebrew data entry.

You can find many Hebrew Doc files in the Moadon - Penticon's on-line archive of Hebrew documents. If you've never used these before, make sure to scroll down past the first screen to view the instructions.

Which should I use Hebrew Support+ or Hebrew Lite?

If you want to use Hebrew in your built-in Date Book, Address Book, Memo Pad or To Do List, you should use Hebrew Support+. This will provide you with complete Hebrew capability for entering and editing data, as well as proper sorting of Hebrew names and entries by the "aleph bet". If you need to enter Hebrew text into any application on the Palm organizer, you should use Hebrew Support+.

If your want Hebrew on the Palm organizer for "read-only" purposes, then Hebrew Lite is for you. There is no Hebrew keyboard to interfere with the English keyboard, and it uses less memory than Hebrew Support+. Hebrew Lite is perfect for reading Hebrew documents on the Palm organizer, and for using with applications like Luach and Omer.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS in Hebrew Lite

No Entry of Hebrew Text

Hebrew Lite does not support Hebrew text entry. There is no Hebrew Keyboard and no Hebrew Graffiti.

Sorting

Sorting based on the Hebrew aleph-bet is not supported.

Fonts

The "Large Bold" font is not supported in Hebrew Lite, and you will see "gibberish"

Editing

Editing of Hebrew texts (selecting, cutting, copying, pasting, etc.) is not supported. Attempting to do this will usually result in modifying the wrong data, and should not be done.

HackMaster

If you are using EVPlugBase as your "hack" manager, this may cause problems with Hebrew Lite. We suggest you use X-Master, TealMaster, or HackMaster.

It is possible that there will be conflicts with certain HackMaster Hacks.
