Hebrew Applications: How to Download

NOTE: If you have a Palm OS 5 device, you will not be able to use Hebrew on it.

Check out which version of the Palm OS you have on your organizer before you install the Hebrew Applications.

The following sequence must be followed in order to install the Hebrew Applications on the Palm (Visor/ Sony CLIE) organizer:

1 If your organizer has Palm OS 3.5 or higher:
Download all 4 Hebrew basic applications. This file is called hebapps352c.zip. This is version 3.52C

If your organizer has Palm OS 3.0 through 3.3:
Download the 2 Hebrew basic applications. This file is called HebApps300K.zip. This is version 3.00K

2 Save the file to your hard drive and remember the filename and location. If prompted to overwrite files, say "Yes". A zip file is a compressed file which contains several files within it.

3 You'll need WinZip (or a similar program) to extract the files out of the "zip" file. (If you are using a MacIntosh computer, use StuffIt). If prompted to overwrite files, say "Yes". Remember the location of the extracted files. After extracting the files, read the readme.txt file.

4 If your organizer has Palm OS 3.5 through 4.1:
using the Palm Install Tool (that is provided as part of the Palm desktop software), install these 4 files onto your computer:

Heb_DateBook.PRC
Heb_AddressBook.PRC
Heb_ToDo.PRC
Heb_MemoPad.PRC

Now skip to step #6.

5 If your organizer has Palm OS 3.0 through 3.3:
using the Palm Install Tool (that is provided as part of the Palm desktop software), install these 2 files onto your computer:

Heb Date Book.prc
Heb Address Book.prc

6 Perform a HotSync in order to transfer the files to your organizer.

7 After the HotSync, you can access the applications from the Application Launcher.

Tap to run the Hebrew Date Book

Tap to run the Hebrew Address Book.

Tap to run the Hebrew To Do List.

Tap to run the Hebrew Memo Pad

Please note that the standard English built-in applications are still available.

8 After you installed these new applications, you may want to map the "Application Buttons" to these applications.

Tap the "Prefs" application.

Choose "Buttons" in the upper right corner, and then select the applications to be mapped to the appropriate buttons.

The Hebrew Date Book is called "Yoman" (written in Hebrew).
The Hebrew Phone Book is called "Telefon" (written in Hebrew).
The Hebrew To Do List is called "Misimot" (written in Hebrew).
The Hebrew Memo Pad is called "Mazkir" (written in Hebrew).

Once you have done this, pressing on the appropriate "Application Button" will cause the Hebrew version of the application to be invoked.

Remember, the English built-in application can always be run, by tapping its icon in the Application Launcher.
